Lonvest takes security seriously and offers additional safeguards to protect your funds. Two-factor authentication (2FA) is a vital tool we use to confirm critical account actions, such as password resets, funds withdrawals, and login attempts.

What is 2FA?

2FA is an extra layer of security that requires users to provide two forms of identification before accessing an account. For Lonvest, 2FA means generating automatically generated codes that expire after 30 seconds using apps like Google Authenticator or Authy.

Why is 2FA necessary?

Enabling 2FA is crucial for ensuring that only you can access your account. The generated codes are hard to guess, making it harder for hackers to gain access to your account. By activating 2FA, you're adding an extra layer of security that makes it difficult for malicious actors to impersonate you and access your funds.

How to set up 2FA on the Lonvest web platform

To enhance the security of your Lonvest account, we highly recommend enabling two-factor authentication (2FA). Here's a step-by-step guide on how to set it up:

  1. Log in to your account and select the Settings option from the drop-down menu located in the top-right corner. Alternatively, you can follow the link to access the Settings page.

  2. Navigate to the Two-Factor Authentication (2FA) section.

  3. Click on the Enable 2FA button.

  4. Download and install an authenticator app on your iOS or Android device.

  5. Use your 2FA app to scan the QR code provided to add your Lonvest account. Once successfully added, the app will begin generating one-time 6-digit codes to confirm crucial account actions.

  6. Enter a 2FA code generated by the app to activate the 2FA feature. Click the Enable 2FA button, and you're all set!

By following these steps, you will add an extra layer of security to your Lonvest account, making it much harder for hackers to access it.

Steps to regain access to your authentication app

At Lonvest, we prioritize the security of our clients' accounts. That's why we use two-factor authentication (2FA) to ensure that only authorized users can access their accounts. Unfortunately, if you lose access to your authentication app, you won't be able to log in to your account.

To regain access to your authentication app, you'll need to have your secret key or backup key. The secret key is a unique code generated by your authentication app when you first set up 2FA. We strongly recommend storing it in a safe place offline, such as writing it down or printing it out.

If you have your secret key, follow these steps to reset your 2FA:

  1. Go to the Lonvest website and click "Login".

  2. Enter your email address and password, and click "Log in".

  3. You'll see a message that says "Authentication code required". Click the "Lost your device?" link.

  4. Enter your email address and click "Send".

  5. Check your email for instructions on how to reset your 2FA.

  6. Follow the instructions in the email to reset your 2FA and regain access to your account.

Remember to keep your secret key offline and in a safe place to avoid losing access to your account in the future.

What to do if I don’t have my secret key

In case you don't have your secret key, you can always reach out to us by sending an email to info@lonvest.com. Our team will verify your identity to make sure it's really you attempting to access your account. Once your identity is confirmed, we can help you re-enable the 2FA feature on your account.

What to do if you encounter a 2FA error message?

If you receive an invalid code error message from your 2FA app, there are a few things you can do to resolve the issue. First, ensure that you enter the code in a timely manner, as the app generates one-time codes every 30 seconds. Additionally, make sure that your phone's time is synchronized with your actual timezone, as this is a common reason why 2FA apps may not work correctly.

To check if your phone is correctly synchronized, open this link on your phone. If you continue to experience issues, you may need to adjust your phone's settings.

If you use an iOS device, turn on the "Set Automatically" option in the "General > Date & Time" settings. If you use Google Authenticator on an Android device, synchronize your device directly in the app by tapping the dropdown list in the upper right corner, selecting "Settings", choosing "Time correction for codes", and then pressing the "Sync" button.

If you have completed these steps and are still experiencing issues with 2FA, please contact our support team at info@lonvest.com for further assistance. We will work with you to resolve the problem and ensure the security of your account.
